Independence Bridge to Close for Two Months as Federal Government Begins Major Rehabilitation

0

The Federal Government has announced the closure of the Independence Bridge (Marina-bound) from April 1 to the end of May 2025 to facilitate essential maintenance and rehabilitation works.

This was disclosed by the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, in a statement issued on Monday. She explained that the temporary closure would impact traffic traveling from Ahmadu Bello Way and Adeola Odeku towards Marina, Eko Bridge, and Onikan by Zone 2.

Motorists have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and make use of alternative routes to minimize congestion during the repair period.

While acknowledging the inconvenience the closure may cause, Kesha expressed gratitude to the public for their understanding and cooperation as the government works to enhance the safety and durability of the road infrastructure.
