The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has joined forces with the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) to enhance the fight against corruption through strategic collaboration.
During a high-level meeting at the ICPC headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, the acting Controller General of NCoS, Sylvester Ndidi Nwabuche, and ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, outlined key areas of partnership, including sensitization, joint training, and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Dr. Aliyu emphasized the importance of engaging ex-convicts in public education on crime and corruption, leveraging their real-life experiences to drive awareness. He also highlighted the need for continuous dialogue between both agencies to address challenges effectively.
On his part, Nwabuche reaffirmed his commitment to corruption prevention, stating that his leadership prioritizes partnerships with agencies like ICPC to strengthen integrity in governance. He praised the Commission’s efforts and pledged NCoS’s readiness to operate within ICPC’s anti-corruption framework.
