Port Harcourt — The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has approved the appointment of eleven new permanent secretaries, signaling a fresh wave of reforms within the state’s civil service.
The announcement was made in a Special Government Announcement released on Tuesday and signed by the Acting Head of Service, Inyingi Brown. According to the statement, the newly appointed officials will be sworn in by Vice Admiral Ibas on a date to be communicated soon.
Those appointed include senior civil servants such as Lauretta Davies Dimkpa, Uche R. Ideozu, Chimenum Mpi, Jeremiah Egwu, Nicholas Iminabo Wokoma, Vera Sam Dike, Aleruchi Akani, Imaonyani Roselin, Ephraim-George, Dr. Mina T. Ikuru, Dabite Sokari George, and Soibitein Duke Harry.
The appointments come less than two weeks after Ibas announced plans for the phased rehabilitation of the Rivers State Secretariat Complex. The initiative is part of his administration’s broader commitment to revitalize public institutions and improve the welfare of civil servants across the state.
Observers see the move as a strategic effort to inject fresh energy into the bureaucracy while laying the groundwork for more efficient service delivery under Ibas’ leadership.
