Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has reiterated his commitment to addressing critical challenges and ensuring progress in both Rivers State and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Governor Fubara made this declaration during a condolence visit to Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, at the Government House on Saturday. The visit was to commiserate with Governor Mohammed over the loss of his stepmother, Hauwa Duguri, who passed away earlier this year.
Fubara, who has been at odds with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, acknowledged the demands of leadership and emphasized the need for bold decisions to ensure progress.
“This visit may be slightly delayed, but the priority is to express our solidarity and support during this difficult time,” Fubara stated. Addressing Governor Mohammed, he added, “Leadership is never easy, but there comes a time when one must take a strong stand to ensure things are done right.”
Fubara described the visit as more than a condolence gesture, highlighting its significance in strengthening ties and fostering collaboration. “This visit is a demonstration of our good relationship and our shared resolve to address critical issues together,” he noted.
He further pledged to continue working closely with Governor Mohammed to promote unity and growth in their respective states. “This is just the beginning of our collaboration. We will continue to work together for the unity and development of our states,” he said.
Governor Mohammed, in his response, praised Fubara for his strategic approach to governance and his ability to navigate political challenges in Rivers State.
“Governor Fubara is a calculative and strategic leader. His determination and leadership in steering the political structure of Rivers State are commendable,” Mohammed remarked.
The Bauchi Governor, who also chairs the PDP Governors’ Forum, assured Fubara of Bauchi State’s continued support, citing shared values of justice and equity.
“Bauchi has always stood with you because your actions align with justice and truth. We will continue to support your efforts in ensuring fairness and effective leadership,” Mohammed said.
The visit reinforces the growing collaboration between the two states, with both leaders expressing a shared commitment to unity and progress within the PDP and the nation at large.
