Governor Agbu Kefas’ Sister Tragically Killed During Bandit Attack in Taraba State

Atsi Kefas, the younger sister of Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has tragically passed away after being accidentally shot by a police escort during an attempted bandit attack.

The incident occurred last Thursday on Kente Road in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State. Atsi Kefas was traveling with the governor’s mother, Jumai Kefas, when their vehicle was ambushed by armed gunmen. During the chaos, a police officer assigned to protect the family inadvertently shot Atsi Kefas while attempting to repel the attackers.

Despite efforts to save her, Atsi Kefas succumbed to her injuries after being rushed to a hospital in Abuja for urgent medical treatment.

Confirming the tragic loss, a family source said, “She passed away last night after battling her injuries. The governor and his family have yet to issue a formal statement, but our thoughts are with them during this incredibly difficult time.”

Another source corroborated the incident, stating, “Yes, the governor’s younger sister, who was shot during the bandit attack while traveling to Abuja, has sadly passed away.”

The tragic event underscores the escalating security challenges in the region. Governor Agbu Kefas and his family are yet to release an official statement on the incident.
