Port Harcourt, Nigeria – Governor Siminalayi Fubara has reaffirmed his commitment to fully implementing the recent Supreme Court judgment concerning the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State.
Speaking during the inauguration of the new Judges’ Quarters at Old GRA, Port Harcourt, on Tuesday, Fubara emphasized that the state’s interests must take precedence over personal or political considerations.
“It has not been an easy 16 months, but what is important is the interest of our state, which must be above our personal interest,” he stated.
The governor made it clear that his administration would ensure the Supreme Court’s verdict is executed to the letter, stressing that governance should prioritize the collective good over individual ambitions.
“I want to say it here, very loud and clear to everyone: the Supreme Court has given a judgment, and my administration is going to implement the judgment to its fullest. The reason is clear: it is not about me; it is about the good of this state,” Fubara declared.
The Supreme Court’s ruling has been at the center of intense political debate in Rivers State, with different factions interpreting its implications. However, Fubara’s firm stance signals his administration’s determination to align governance with legal directives, ensuring stability in the state.
