The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the death of former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, who was found lifeless in a hotel room in Abuja.

Police spokesperson Josephine Adeh, in a statement, dismissed speculations that Parradang was kidnapped and killed, clarifying that he passed away after checking into Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, on March 3, 2025.

According to the police report, Parradang arrived at the hotel around noon, paid ₦22,000 for a night’s stay, and later received a female visitor in his room. The woman reportedly left the premises at approximately 4:00 PM. However, the former immigration chief did not exit his room afterward.

Concerned about his whereabouts, a military officer and close associate of Parradang visited the hotel at around 4:00 AM the following day. Upon gaining access to his room with the assistance of hotel staff, they discovered him seated lifeless in a chair.

Authorities were immediately alerted, with officers from the Durumi Police Station arriving at the scene to secure the area, collect evidence, and document the situation. His body has since been transferred to the National Hospital for further examination, while police investigations continue.

The FCT Police Command assured the public that hotel staff are cooperating with the probe as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
