Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has remarked that the time for politicking in the country is past, and it is time for the vision seen by the country’s founding fathers to materialize.
She made this known during a celebratory visit to her office at the State House in Abuja by the Wives of Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The First Lady stated that women have an important role in bringing healing to the country, which is why the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) is reaching out to the displaced people of Mangu in Plateau State.
“Our colonial masters saw an opportunity in Nigeria, which is why they brought us all together.” It is now time for that potential to come true.
“When we build lives, we are also building our country. Politics has ended. Every state we want to have a significant impact on. We’d like to go in since it’s our state. Nigeria is ours collectively. So, when we want to start politics, everyone will go back to their respective tents, but for the time being, Nigeria is more essential. It is more essential than any political party or affiliation.”
Senator Oluremi Tinubu used the occasion to showcase some of the Initiative’s accomplishments during President Bola Tinubu’s first 100 days in office.
Among them are scholarships for 43 Nigerian students in academic institutions, ICT training, and empowerment for women in the FCT.
“We have a lot of work to do together. I anticipate that you will all be available to assist us with the tasks we need to perform in Nigeria.
“There is no denying that families need a better life, but how do we get there? It is critical to change people’s lives.”
She advised the Ministers’ wives to continue to support and make their husbands proud at all times.
Mrs. Susan Lokpobiri, the team’s leader and wife of the Minister for Petroleum Resources, appealed to the First Lady in her remarks to have their forum engage in the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) through capacity utilization.
“We will continue to support your dreams for Nigeria and Mr. President in the Renewed Hope Agenda for Nigeria.”
They also congratulated President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON on their victory at the Presidential Election Tribunal.
