Buba Galadima, a leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has urged President Bola Tinubu to fire Mahmood Yakubu, the national chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Galadima claimed Yakubu and a few politicians plotted to thwart the will of Nigerians during the last presidential election.
He claimed in an interview with Channels Television on Tuesday that Yakubu went above and beyond what Godwin Emefiele, the previous governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, did before to he was dismissed.
He emphasized that the INEC director had broken more laws than Emefiele.
Galadima asserts: “The INEC chairman must resign; his actions went beyond those of Godwin Emefiele.
“He conspired with several individuals to thwart Nigerians’ will. He perpetrated the worst crime a human being has ever been capable of, yet he is still free.”
The INEC chairman was also accused by some political players of rigging the 2023 presidential election in Tinubu’s favor.
