Finnish authorities have frozen the assets of Simon Ekpa, a self-proclaimed Biafran agitator, amid ongoing investigations into allegations of terrorism-related activities.
Ekpa, who has been detained for several weeks, is currently being held in Kylmäkoski Prison, a high-security facility located in Akaa, Finland. The prison, known for its stringent conditions, is regarded as one of the world’s toughest correctional facilities.
According to reports by Sahara Reporters, the Finnish government has also extended the freeze to the assets of companies linked to Ekpa and four of his alleged accomplices, who are also in custody. A Finnish newspaper, Yle, confirmed these developments, noting the significant measures taken by authorities.
Given the firm stance of the Finnish government, it appears likely that Ekpa will spend the Christmas and New Year holidays in detention, pending further legal proceedings.
