The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, July 15, 2025, a public holiday in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on Sunday in London after a brief illness.
The announcement was made on Monday by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through an official statement issued to the press.
According to the statement, the public holiday is to allow Nigerians observe a day of national mourning as Buhari is laid to rest on Tuesday.
