The Federal Government has officially declared Friday, June 6 and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark the Eid-ul-Adha celebration across the country.
This announcement was made in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Interior, on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The minister extended warm congratulations to all Muslim faithful in Nigeria and the diaspora on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, urging the Ummah to embrace the spirit of sacrifice, obedience, and faith exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace Be Upon Him).
He called on Muslims and all Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for unity, peace, and national prosperity, noting that collective efforts were needed to drive the country forward.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to delivering people-oriented reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aimed at putting Nigeria firmly back on the path of sustainable progress.
“As we celebrate, let us reflect on the values of selflessness and devotion, and continue to support the administration’s vision to restore Nigeria’s greatness,” the statement added.
The Federal Government also encouraged all citizens to cooperate with ongoing efforts to build a secure, peaceful, and prosperous nation.
