Federal High Court Nullifies Edo PDP Primary Election

0

The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Inyang Ekwo, has nullified the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election in Edo State.

Reports has it that the election, which declared Asue Ighodalo as the PDP gubernatorial candidate, was voided due to the unlawful exclusion of 378 delegates who were supposed to participate in the voting process.

Justice Ekwo’s judgment came in response to a lawsuit filed by the aggrieved delegates following the primary election held on February 22, 2024.

The court found that the conduct of the primary election in Benin violated both the Electoral Act 2022 and the PDP Guidelines.

More details will be provided as they become available.
