Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has thrown his weight behind President Bola Tinubu, describing him as a leader capable of stabilizing Nigeria’s economy.
Fayose made this known on Monday during a visit to President Tinubu at his residence in Lagos. Speaking with journalists after the meeting, the former governor said his visit was aimed at encouraging the President and acknowledging the efforts made so far in tackling the nation’s economic challenges.
“I was once a critic of the last administration, but you can’t compare the situation now,” Fayose stated. “I’m here to visit him for his homecoming and encourage him to do more.”
Despite being a member of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Fayose emphasized that he had always believed in Tinubu’s leadership, even during his time as governor.
“The only thing we can do as leaders of this country is to encourage him — lift up his hands — and make the public understand that he is leading an economy that was down and is now being stabilized,” he added.
Fayose’s remarks come amid growing political discourse around bipartisan support for national development and economic recovery under President Tinubu’s administration.
