FAAC Disburses N1.578 Trillion Revenue for March 2025 to FG, States, and LGs

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has disbursed a total of N1.578 trillion among the Federal Government, 36 states, and 774 local government councils as revenue generated in March 2025.

This was disclosed in a communiqué issued after FAAC’s monthly meeting held on Tuesday in Abuja.

The total distributable revenue comprises:

Statutory Revenue: N931.325 billion

Value Added Tax (VAT): N593.750 billion

Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL): N24.971 billion

Exchange Difference Revenue: N28.711 billion

FAAC reported that a gross revenue of N2.411 trillion was available for the month, out of which N85.376 billion was deducted for collection costs and N747.180 billion allocated for transfers, interventions, and refunds.

Compared to February 2025, the gross statutory revenue rose by N65.422 billion to N1.718 trillion, while VAT revenue dropped by N16.838 billion to N637.618 billion.

Revenue Distribution Breakdown
From the total distributable revenue of N1.578 trillion:

Federal Government: N528.696 billion

State Governments: N530.448 billion

Local Government Councils: N387.002 billion

Derivation Revenue (13% of mineral revenue): N132.611 billion to oil-producing states

Statutory Revenue (N931.325 billion):
FG: N422.485 billion

States: N214.290 billion

LGs: N165.209 billion

Derivation: N129.341 billion

VAT Revenue (N593.750 billion):
FG: N89.063 billion

States: N296.875 billion

LGs: N207.813 billion

EMTL (N24.971 billion):
FG: N3.746 billion

States: N12.485 billion

LGs: N8.740 billion

Exchange Difference Revenue (N28.711 billion):
FG: N13.402 billion

States: N6.798 billion

LGs: N5.241 billion

Derivation: N3.270 billion

FAAC noted a significant rise in revenue from Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) and Companies Income Tax (CIT) during the month under review. However, revenue from Oil and Gas Royalties, EMTL, VAT, excise duty, import duty, and Common External Tariff (CET) levies recorded a decline.

The committee reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring equitable and transparent revenue distribution among the tiers of government to support economic development across the country.
