Enabulele: Our people don’t need flashy rallies to know who will deliver”

The Accord Party’s governorship candidate for Edo State, Dr. Bright Enabulele, has reaffirmed his status as the party’s official flagbearer, calling on those dissatisfied with his candidacy to pursue legal action rather than resort to distractions.

Addressing journalists in Benin on Wednesday, Enabulele brushed aside the ongoing controversy surrounding his candidacy, labeling it as a minor distraction from the critical task of governance.

“My focus is on delivering quality leadership to Edo State, not indulging in petty distractions,” he stated. “If anyone feels they should be the candidate, they can wait until after the election and challenge it in court.”

Enabulele reassured Edo residents of his unwavering commitment to addressing the state’s governance challenges, promising to implement global best practices. Having lived in several developed countries, he expressed a strong desire to replicate the progress he observed abroad back home in Edo.

He also extended a call to Edo indigenes living overseas, urging them to return and contribute to the state’s growth. “This is an invaluable opportunity, and I am thankful for it. I’m also grateful to the media for providing a platform to share my vision for Edo’s future, a responsibility I do not take lightly,” he said.

Responding to concerns about his campaign’s low visibility compared to other more popular parties, Enabulele downplayed the importance of popularity, emphasizing the need for competence. “It’s not about who holds the largest rallies or who’s most popular. It’s about understanding the complexities of Edo. The real issue is poverty, in all its forms—absolute, relative, rural, and urban. Our people face challenges with housing, healthcare, and basic needs, and these are the matters that should dominate the conversation.”

Enabulele vowed to confront these challenges using modern governance strategies grounded in accessibility, credibility, and purpose. He expressed confidence that his administration would surpass the legacies of notable former governors like Professor Ambrose Alli and Brigadier General Samuel Ogbemudia.

“For 24 years, successive governments have insulted the intelligence of Edo people. What we need now is competent leadership and an administration that builds institutions, not individualism,” he stated.

As for the absence of large rallies in his campaign, Enabulele dismissed the notion that such events are necessary to win votes. He believes Edo’s electorate is informed and understands the qualities required in a leader.

“Our people don’t need grand rallies to recognize who will deliver. What they seek is genuine leadership, not pomp and show,” he concluded.
