Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has vowed that those responsible for the abduction of his longtime friend and former Chief of Staff, Bashir Saidu, will face consequences by 2027.
El-Rufai made the declaration in a post on X after Saidu regained freedom following 50 days in captivity. He alleged that Saidu, a key political figure in Kaduna North and Central Senatorial Districts, was targeted due to his influence in progressive politics.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain also hinted at exposing the alleged involvement of some police officers and judges in the abduction and delays in securing Saidu’s bail.
“The payback to those behind it will be known on or before the 2027 elections, in sha Allah,” he stated, promising to reveal more details in the coming days.
