El-Rufai Meets Buhari in Kaduna

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, paid a visit to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari at his residence in Kaduna State on Friday.

The meeting comes just days after Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, and the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, also visited the former leader.

Buhari, who handed over power to President Tinubu on May 29, 2023, initially returned to his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, after leaving office. However, in February 2025, he relocated permanently to Kaduna.

The meeting was disclosed by a close associate of El-Rufai, @IU_Wakili, who shared on social media:

“Mallam Nasir El-Rufai paid a visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari at his home in Kaduna today. Patiently waiting for somebody to call PMB irrelevant. The outcome of this meeting will decide if we are playing polo or not.”

The purpose and details of their discussions remain undisclosed, but the visit has sparked speculation about its political significance.
