Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has met with former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, and renowned cleric and politician, Pastor Tunde Bakare, in Lagos.
El-Rufai’s media adviser, Muyiwa Adekeye, confirmed the visit in a post on X on Sunday, stating:
“Malam Nasir @elrufai was in Lagos today to visit Ogbeni @raufaregbesola and Pastor Tunde Bakare.”
The high-profile meeting comes just days after El-Rufai also visited former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna, fueling fresh speculation about his political trajectory and potential alliances ahead of the 2027 elections.
Aregbesola, a two-term Governor of Osun State and former ally of President Bola Tinubu, recently exited the All Progressives Congress (APC) after internal party disputes in Osun. Meanwhile, Bakare, a respected political voice, was a presidential aspirant under the APC in the last election.
El-Rufai’s series of engagements with key political figures has sparked conversations about his next move in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
