Ekiti State Government has approved N2.7 billion for rehabilitation of De-Head to Faglo, Basiri Junction Road in Ado-Ekiti.
Information Commissioner Taiwo Olatunbosun made this known in a statement at the end of State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
He said the Oyebanji administration was committed to ensuring the state’s roads were well-maintained and accessible, in alignment with its infrastructural development agenda.
He added that rehabilitation of the road would alleviate traffic jam around Adebayo to Ekiti State University in Ado-Ekiti, boost socio-economic activities and enhance the security and quality of life for residents and property owners on the road.
Olatunbosun said the road was awarded to China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) for rehabilitation and was expected to be completed within 12 months.
He also said the government approved N700.9 million for renovation and remodelling of House of Assembly complex, as well as Assembly Service Commission building.
The commissioner added that the Assembly complex and the Service Commission building were due for renovation to ensure the structures were restored to a modern and functional state, conducive for discharge of legislative duties and administrative functions.
He said the contract awarded to ClemCharles Nigeria Ltd, through direct procurement, in line with Ekiti State Public Procurement (Re-Enactment Law, 2020), was expected to be completed in 12 weeks.
“The government approved N229,000,000.00 to procure tractors and other farm machinery. The tractors and other farm equipment include three 5075E(75HP) tractors, three Fieldking 3 Disc Plough, one Fieldking 22 Disc Harrow and two Fieldking Ridger 2 Row.
“The state government also ratified the awards of N329,474,681.08 contract for construction of 100-bed space capacity hostel at Command Secondary School, Isan Ekiti. The construction, expected to be completed in 12 weeks, is to guarantee continuous full boarding facility in the school.”
