Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested popular Lagos socialite and businessman, Emeka Okonkwo Daniel, widely known as E-Money, over alleged abuse of the Nigerian currency and violation of foreign exchange regulations.
Sources confirmed that E-Money was apprehended on Monday night at his residence in the Omole area of Lagos State. He is currently being investigated for allegedly spraying United States dollars at social events—an act that may breach the provisions of the Foreign Exchange Act as well as regulations against currency abuse.
The arrest has stirred reactions online, given E-Money’s high profile as a social media influencer and businessman, and the younger brother of music star KCee.
More details are expected as the EFCC continues its investigation.
