President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt Easter greetings to Christians in Nigeria and across the world, using the occasion to reaffirm his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity, reviving the economy, and uniting the nation under the banner of renewed hope and shared purpose.

In a message personally signed and released on Friday from France, where he is currently on a two-week working vacation, the President reflected on the significance of Easter—the commemoration of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ—which he described as the cornerstone of the Christian faith.

“The Holy Week, which begins with Palm Sunday and culminates in the celebration of Easter Sunday, calls us to reflect on the enduring values of sacrifice, redemption, love, and hope,” Tinubu stated. “These timeless values resonate with our aspirations as a people and provide moral guidance for our national journey.”

Acknowledging the current difficulties being faced by many Nigerians, particularly in light of the recent security breaches in Plateau and Benue States that resulted in the tragic loss of lives, the President expressed deep sympathy and reiterated his unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of every citizen.

“The recent tragic incidents and the loss of innocent lives in some parts of our country deeply sadden me,” he said. “I understand the pain and fear these events have caused families and communities. Let me assure you that my administration’s resolve to restore peace and security remains unshakable.”

President Tinubu stressed that under his directive, the Armed Forces and relevant security agencies have been tasked with putting an end to the security threats decisively and without delay.

“Forces of evil will never prevail over our country,” he declared. “With the unwavering courage and commitment of our gallant men and women in uniform, we are turning the tide against insecurity and steadily reclaiming peace and stability in affected regions.”

The President also seized the opportunity to update Nigerians on the state of the economy, expressing optimism that the country is beginning to witness positive signs of recovery after months of economic hardship. He assured the public that his administration is working tirelessly to implement policies that will not only stabilise the economy but also make it more inclusive and responsive to the needs of all Nigerians.

“We are grateful to Nigerians for their patience and resilience. We understand the tough economic realities many are facing,” he said. “However, I assure you that we are taking bold and strategic steps to restore investor confidence, stabilise key sectors, and build an economy that truly serves every Nigerian, regardless of background or location.”

In a spirit of global solidarity, the President also sent well wishes to Pope Francis, who is currently recovering from illness, praying for the Pope’s renewed strength and continued leadership within the global Christian community.

As he concluded his Easter message, President Tinubu called on Nigerians of all faiths to remain united and hopeful, urging them to draw inspiration from the resurrection story and the promise of renewal it carries.

“Just as Christ triumphed over death, so too shall our country overcome the challenges we face today. The present moment may appear cloudy, but it will surely give way to a brighter, more glorious dawn,” he said.

“I urge all Nigerians to remain steadfast, hopeful, and united in the pursuit of national progress. The road ahead may be tough, but with shared determination and faith, there is no challenge we cannot conquer. Our unity and resilience are our greatest strengths.”

“May the risen Christ bless our homes with peace, and may our nation continue on the path of unity, strength, and prosperity. Happy Easter to all my fellow Nigerians,” the President concluded.
