Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has thrown his weight behind Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the upcoming Edo governorship election.
Taking to his social media platforms on Sunday evening, the award-winning artist publicly endorsed Ighodalo, urging young voters in the state to support the PDP candidate at the polls.
Davido, whose late mother hailed from the same region as Ighodalo, expressed personal ties to the candidate, describing him as the ideal choice for the role of governor. Sharing a picture of Ighodalo, he wrote, “The next governor of my mother’s homeland.”
With millions of followers across various platforms, Davido’s endorsement could potentially sway the youth vote in Ighodalo’s favor in the upcoming election.
