For the second time in two weeks, Dangote Refinery has announced a further reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), cutting it from N840 to N820 per litre.
The latest price adjustment, which was disclosed via the refinery’s official X account, takes effect from Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
Just a week earlier, on July 1, the 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery had reduced its ex-depot petrol price to N840. That move prompted the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) to lower its retail pump price to N910 per litre in Abuja.
Following suit, MRS Filling Station, a key retail partner of Dangote Refinery, also revised its pump prices — selling petrol at N905 per litre in Abuja and N895 per litre in Lagos.
The consistent price cuts by Dangote Refinery are seen as part of broader efforts to ease the burden of fuel costs on Nigerians and stabilise the downstream petroleum market.
