Dalori to Step In as Acting APC Chairman Following Ganduje’s Resignation

0

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ayekooto Akindele, has confirmed that the party’s Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Bukar Dalori, will assume the position of Acting National Chairman following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.

Ganduje, who formally stepped down on Friday, left his position under circumstances that remain officially unclear. However, unconfirmed reports suggest that health concerns may have influenced his decision.

While the APC’s National Working Committee (NWC) is yet to issue an official statement on the leadership transition, Ayekooto took to his official Facebook page to announce Dalori’s new role. “Acting National Chairman of the APC, Ali Bukar Dalori,” he wrote.

Earlier, Bashir Ahmad, former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, also hinted that one of the party’s national vice chairmen would temporarily fill the leadership vacuum. He added that a substantive national chairman would be elected at the APC’s national convention scheduled for December 2025.

As the party moves forward with Dalori at the helm in an acting capacity, political observers will be watching closely to see how the transition shapes the APC’s internal dynamics and preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
