THE Lagos High Court has handed down a verdict of death by hanging for Officer Drambi Vandi, the suspended assistant superintendent of police, who stood accused of the murder of Bolanle Raheem, a prominent female lawyer.
Justice Ibironke Harrison gave the judgment today.
Drambi Vandi, who had pleaded not guilty to the murder charges, was brought before the Lagos State High Court at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) annex for a one-count charge of murder on Monday.
The tragic incident occurred on December 25 when Raheem Bolanle was allegedly shot dead by Officer Vandi in the Ajah area of Lagos. The victim was returning home from a Christmas outing with her family when the horrifying shooting transpired.
