Martins Otse, popularly known as ‘VeryDarkMan,’ a social media commentator, has been granted bail by the court under stringent conditions. Otse, who faced charges of impersonation following a viral video in which he appeared in a police uniform, was arraigned by the Police on Friday.

The court set bail at N2 million, requiring two sureties who must each provide the same amount. Additionally, Otse has been ordered to surrender his international passports and any other forms of identification.

According to his legal counsel, Deji Adeyanju, the bail conditions stipulate: “Bail set at N2 million, with two sureties in like sum. Sureties are required to submit their international passports and valid means of identification. They must also provide utility bills and reside within the jurisdiction of the court, specifically within the Abuja municipal area, while committing to ensuring the defendant’s presence at all court proceedings.”

The court mandated that the sureties swear affidavits guaranteeing the defendant’s availability throughout the trial, with the prosecutor tasked with verifying their addresses.
