The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT) has ruled that the All Progressives Congress (APC) cross-petition contesting Peter Obi’s membership in the Labour Party (LP) is incompetent.
While reading the decision, Justice Abba Mohammed stated that membership in a political party is an internal matter.
The court also rejected the respondents’ objection, which criticized Obi and LP’s petition for failing to join Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate who finished second in the poll.
The PEPT is scheduled to declare its verdict today. Meanwhile, security has already been increased in preparation for the verdict.
