The Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday admitted into evidence video recordings featuring retired General T.Y. Danjuma, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Adeola Ajayi, in support of the defence case for Nnamdi Kanu.
Presiding Judge, Justice James Omotosho, admitted the video files—contained in a flash drive—as Exhibit PW-P, along with a certificate of compliance marked as Exhibit PWP-1.
The materials were presented by Kanu’s lead counsel, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Paul Erokoro, and were not opposed by the Federal Government’s lead prosecutor, Adegboyega Awomolo, SAN.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the three video clips were played in open court during the proceedings. A DSS operative, identified as “BBB,” who appeared as a prosecution witness, was subsequently cross-examined by Erokoro following the playback.
Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is currently facing charges brought by the Federal Government. The admission of these videos marks a significant development in the ongoing trial.
