Chelsea appears to be in a pole position to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in the summer of 2024, however, the club is also evaluating other possibilities up front, according to CaughtOffside.
The Blues have received a potentially significant boost in their pursuit of Osimhen, as one of the clubs thought to be their main rivals for the Nigerian’s signature is now expected to focus on signing a different type of forward next year, most likely Rafael Leao or someone in the mold of Kylian Mbappe, who is set to be out of contract at the end of this season.
According to sources close to the matter, Chelsea is displaying a considerable interest in Osimhen, with a classic center forward expected to be high on the club’s agenda ahead of next season.
According to sources, Chelsea is also interested in two Premier League players, Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Brighton’s Evan Ferguson, while Feyenoord forward Santiago Gimenez is being watched by Chelsea and other elite teams following a strong start to the season.
There have been no formal discussions about this transaction, but Chelsea is due to conduct meetings about its transfer plan soon, while Osimhen’s contract talks with Napoli are said to have stopped.
