The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, has thanked the commission’s staff for their efforts in fighting corruption.

He gave the commendation in Abuja on Wednesday to commemorate the 2024 Workers’ Day.

Olukoyede, in a statement signed by the EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, commended their intellect, integrity, focus, and commitment, emphasising their vital role as nation builders.

“It requires intellect, integrity, focus, and commitment. On a day like this, I consider it important to salute the brain and brawn of my officers. They are nation builders and we need to appreciate them”, he said.

The chairman underscored the importance of upholding values such as courage, integrity, professionalism, and collaboration in the fight against corruption.

He urged EFCC staff to remain steadfast and fearless, emphasising that these values are their strongest weapons against corruption.

“We all know that fighting corruption takes all of the time, talent, and value systems of every focused fighter. The least we can do is to appreciate them once in a while for their labour of love”, he said.

Olukoyede extended his well-wishes to all Nigerian workers and emphasized the need to couple productivity with integrity, affirming that corruption tarnishes the nation’s image and must be fought vigorously.
