Justice Anennih of the Federal Capital Territory High Court has ordered the remand of Yahaya Adoza Bello, the embattled former governor of Kogi State, in prison custody. The decision came as the court adjourned further hearing on his trial to January 29 and 30, as well as February 25 and 27, 2025.
Meanwhile, the second defendant in the case has been granted bail in the sum of ₦300 million with two sureties. The sureties are required to own properties in Maitama, Abuja, valued at no less than the bail amount.
As part of the bail conditions, the court mandated that the original title documents of the properties must be deposited in court. Additionally, the sureties must submit copies of their international passports, depose to an affidavit of means, and provide evidence of their financial capacity. The second defendant is also required to surrender their travel documents.
Pending the fulfillment of these bail conditions, the second defendant is to remain in prison custody.
