The Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, conducted a major restructuring of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA.
Reports gathered by Nelsdaily have it that some directors have been relieved of their jobs while some directorates of the agency have been merged and it would be recalled that sometime last week, the Director, Consumer Protection Directorate, Alhaji Adamu Abdullahi handed in his resignation letter which was accepted by the agency.
However, as at press time there had been no official announcement but reports gathered from reliable sources have it that the Consumer Protection Directorate( CPD) has been merged with the Directorate of Air Traffic Regulation ( DATR) which is now headed by Oyo-Ita as Director; General Aviation Directorate has also been merged with Directorate of Air Worthiness Standards ( DAWS) and the two directors, Captain Ayodele Sasegbon and Engineer Ita-Awak have been issued letters of termination; and Directorate of Training was also merged with Director of Licensing and Captain Bahago E. A emerging as Director while Captain Abdullani Sidi received a letter of termination of appointment.
Meanwhile, there are speculations that the Directorate of Human Resources and Admin, and its director, were retained, and Mr. Ahmed Abbas Sanusi, Director of Finance and Account was also retained.
This is the second restructuring to take place in the NCAA in three years as the last one was in February 2017 and was done by the Federal Government.
