Bode Olanipekun Protests N12.3 Billion Fraud Charge Against Oba Otudeko in Lagos Court

LAGOS — Bode Olanipekun, counsel to Oba Otudeko, Chairman of Honeywell Group, appeared before the Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday to protest a 13-count fraud charge involving N12.3 billion filed against his client.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) brought the charges against Otudeko, alongside former First Bank Managing Director Olabisi Onasanya, former Honeywell board member Soji Akintayo, and a company, Anchorage Leisure Ltd.

During proceedings, Olanipekun informed the court that his clients had not been formally served with the charges, which he argued was a breach of legal procedure.

The EFCC accuses the defendants of obtaining the sum under false pretenses, an allegation forming the basis of the charges.

The matter, which has drawn significant public attention, is set to continue as the court determines the next steps in the legal process.

Further developments are expected as the case unfolds.
