The Benue State Government has called on residents and all registered political support groups to come out in large numbers to give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu a grand welcome during his scheduled visit to the state on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
In an official memo from the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Groups Mobilization, Mr. Francis U. Ngutswen, the government described the visit as “historic” and urged citizens to demonstrate unwavering support and hospitality.
Speaking on behalf of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the directive emphasized the importance of a “colourful shoulder-to-shoulder procession” stretching from Makurdi Airport to Wurukum Roundabout, and on to the Government House, where President Tinubu is expected to engage with citizens at a town-hall meeting.
“The Support Groups Constituency is required to form a colourful shoulder-to-shoulder spread/procession from the airport to Wurukum Roundabout and down to Government House Makurdi,” the memo stated.
To ensure smooth coordination and security, the government announced that accreditation for the event will be strictly based on group numbers and assigned colours. Group leaders have been instructed to liaise with the Office of the SSA for final arrangements and mobilization details.
President Tinubu’s visit is expected to reinforce ties between the federal and state governments, and highlight ongoing developmental initiatives under the current administration.
