Ben Murray-Bruce Predicts Davido Will Become Governor of Osun State

Former senator representing Bayelsa East, Ben Murray-Bruce, has expressed strong confidence that Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has what it takes to become the Governor of Osun State in the future.

Speaking in a recent episode of his Common Sense series, Murray-Bruce highlighted Davido’s political awareness, family background, and mass appeal as strong indicators of his potential success in politics.

“David Adeleke, the global phenomenon better known as Davido, is undeniably an international artist and a true Nigerian superstar. He stands as one of Nigeria’s most valuable cultural exports,” Murray-Bruce stated. “However, beneath the surface of this music icon lies a side that many may not be aware of.”

According to the former lawmaker, Davido has revealed himself to be a “political animal” with deeply held ideologies—a trait that, given the Adeleke family’s political legacy, aligns naturally with his heritage.

Davido’s uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, is the current Governor of Osun State, while another uncle, Isiaka Adeleke, previously held the same office during the military administration of Ibrahim Babangida.

“Considering all of these, the thought that Davido himself could one day aspire to become the Governor of Osun State seems more like a potential trajectory,” Murray-Bruce noted.

He added that entertainers like Davido have the capacity to connect with various demographics and could bring new energy and ideas into Nigerian politics.

“Davido, if you run, I predict you will win,” Murray-Bruce concluded.
