Bagudu Dismisses Northern Marginalisation Claims, Says Tinubu’s Govt Is Fair and Inclusive

KADUNA — The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu, has reaffirmed that the North is well-represented in President Bola Tinubu’s administration, assuring citizens of the region that they have no reason to feel sidelined or regretful.

Bagudu made the remarks on Wednesday during a technical session at the Government–Citizens’ Engagement held in Kaduna. He emphasized that the Tinubu administration remains committed to fairness, inclusion, and national unity.

“There is no systemic discrimination in this government. We [the North] are fully involved and working to protect our interests,” the minister stated.

He debunked ongoing narratives suggesting that the region is being marginalised, urging Northerners to reject divisive rhetoric that could undermine national cohesion.

According to Bagudu, appointments made by the Tinubu-led government have been guided by merit, competence, and the principle of federal character.

He also noted that President Tinubu inherited a fragile economy and is undertaking bold and necessary reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda to reposition the nation for sustainable growth.

The Government–Citizens’ Engagement event is part of ongoing efforts to foster dialogue between policymakers and the public, ensuring transparency and inclusivity in governance.
