Atiku: ADC Coalition Will Unseat Tinubu, Reshape Nigeria’s Politics by 2027

Ado-Ekiti — Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed strong confidence that the opposition coalition led by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will dislodge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Atiku, who spoke through his representative, Professor Bayode Fakunle, during the official inauguration of the ADC Executive Council in Ekiti State over the weekend, declared that the newly adopted party has already sent shockwaves through the nation’s political establishment.

He noted that despite being adopted as the flagship platform of the opposition just three weeks ago, the ADC has rapidly gained prominence, triggering concern among other political parties.

“ADC was launched just about three weeks ago and within two weeks, it has become the most dominant party in the country. All other parties are already jittery,” Atiku said.

The former presidential candidate emphasized that the ADC is positioned as a national platform open to all Nigerians, promising to transform the nation’s political landscape and end the dominance of the ruling party.

“ADC is for all Nigerians. It is a party that will change the political landscape of this country, and everyone is welcomed with open hands. By the grace of God, this party will take over the leadership of this country come 2027,” he stated.

Atiku also warned against Nigeria drifting into a one-party system, vowing that the ADC will provide a viable and formidable alternative to the APC.

The ADC coalition, which recently brought together several notable political actors and parties under one banner, has consistently maintained its resolve to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and offer what it describes as a “fresh direction” for Nigeria.

While Atiku has yet to formally declare his 2027 presidential ambition under the ADC, there are growing indications that he may seek the party’s ticket as preparations for the next general election begin to take shape.

The unveiling of the ADC’s Ekiti leadership marks a significant step in the party’s ongoing efforts to establish a nationwide presence and build momentum ahead of 2027.
