Army Headquarters Clarifies Misleading Report Regarding NLC Meeting Venue

0

The Army Headquarters wishes to address and rectify a recent false breaking news report circulated by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC). The report erroneously alleges that soldiers are currently surrounding the venue of the ongoing meeting between the NLC and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

We would like to clarify that the presence of military personnel at the venue is due to the attendance of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, who is participating in the meeting. The NSA arrived with his legally mandated military escorts, as per standard protocol. These escorts will continue their duties and will accompany the NSA from the venue once the meeting concludes.

The Army Headquarters urges the public to disregard the deliberate and misleading falsehoods being spread regarding the presence of military escorts at the meeting. The deployment of these personnel is strictly in accordance with statutory requirements and protocols.

We remain committed to maintaining transparency and ensuring the safety and security of all public officials and the general public.
