The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the temporary closure of its national secretariat, popularly known as ‘Buhari House’, in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away in London on Sunday at the age of 82 following a brief illness.
In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the secretariat will remain closed from Monday, July 14 to Thursday, July 17, 2025, as a mark of respect for the late statesman.
“The All Progressives Congress announces the closure of its National Secretariat in Abuja in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR,” the statement read.
The decision, according to Morka, is in accordance with the directive of the Acting National Chairman, Bukar Dalori.
He urged party members, supporters, and Nigerians at large to use the mourning period for solemn reflection and prayers for the peaceful repose of the former president’s soul.
President Buhari, who led Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, died in London after battling an undisclosed illness.
