Dr. Nwachukwu Anakwenze, a former presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called for the creation of a new Nigeria where every ethnic group is genuinely invested in the country’s future.

In a statement titled Hope for Nigeria, Anakwenze shared his vision for a united, equitable, and inclusive nation founded on merit, accountability, and social justice. He emphasized the need for a leadership structure that values hard work and fairness, advocating for a system based on merit and transparency.

“We want a true democracy in Nigeria, beginning with freedom for Nigerians and, by extension, for Africa as a whole,” Anakwenze said, underlining the importance of freedom and governance that fosters national unity.

Anakwenze also highlighted the potential of Nigeria’s ethnic diversity, asserting that it should be seen as a strength rather than a division. He envisioned a country where equity, fairness, and justice serve as the guiding principles of society.

The former presidential aspirant further stressed the need for a governance system that nurtures trust between the government and the people, ensuring that citizens have confidence in their right to vote and to be voted for.

“Our children are equal to the task of making Nigeria great,” he added, acknowledging the academic and professional achievements of Nigerian youth both at home and abroad.

Anakwenze’s statement also called for greater unity across religious and regional divides, promoting love and compassion among Nigerians regardless of their background. He pointed out Nigeria’s abundant resources in human capital, agriculture, and solid minerals, urging the country to leverage these assets for sustainable development.

With the 2027 general elections fast approaching, Anakwenze’s call for a reimagined Nigeria comes at a time when national unity, governance, and development remain key topics of discussion among political stakeholders.
