Akwa Ibom State is in mourning following the death of the First Lady, Patience Umo Eno, wife of Governor Pastor Umo Eno. The heartbreaking news was announced by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, in a statement titled “Unexpected Sunset,” released in the early hours of Friday.
Mrs. Eno passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, surrounded by family members, after a brief illness. The commissioner expressed the family’s deep sorrow, stating, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno. She passed away peacefully in the presence of her family.”
The family has requested prayers and privacy during this difficult time, while the governor expressed his appreciation for the support they’ve received. Despite the personal loss, Governor Umo Eno remains committed to serving the state.
