Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has sought the partnership of the Federal Ministry of Works regarding some Federal Government roads rehabilitated by his administration.

A statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, obtained in Osogbo on Friday, indicated that Adeleke made the request during a visit to the Minister of Works, Mr. Dave Umahi, in Abuja on Friday.

While delivering reports on the state of federal and state roads and seeking further federal interventions, Adeleke stated that his administration had embarked on multi-billion naira infrastructure projects, which include flyovers, dualisation of roads, and construction of major roads across the state.

Olawale also mentioned that the governor briefed Umahi on some of the projects already completed by his administration.

“The governor noted that his administration has constructed over 150 kilometres of roads since he assumed office, including 1.5 kilometres per local government in the state.

“While commending the minister for his bold approach in the road sector, the governor informed the minister about some federal roads his administration has worked on, seeking a favourable rapport between the state and the federal government in the road sector,” the statement partly read.

In response, the minister assured Adeleke of support and partnership in the management of federal road corridors across Osun.

The governor’s spokesperson also stated that the minister acknowledged the proactive approach of the Osun governor in the road sector.
