ADC Woos Zamfara Governor as Over 100 Politicians Defect to Party

GUSAU — The Zamfara State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially extended an invitation to Governor Dauda Lawal to join its fold, as the party continues to attract a growing number of political actors across the state.

Speaking during a press conference in Gusau on Friday, the state chairman of the ADC, Kabiru Garba, revealed that no fewer than 100 members from various political parties had so far defected to the ADC, citing the party’s commitment to justice, fairness, and equal opportunity.

“We are extending a formal invitation to Governor Dauda Lawal to join our great party in the interest of fostering further development in Zamfara,” Garba announced.

He emphasized the party’s open-door policy, assuring defectors of equal treatment regardless of their previous political affiliations or positions. According to him, the influx of new members was a reflection of the public’s confidence in the ADC’s leadership style and internal democracy.

Garba noted that the new entrants were being adequately oriented on the party’s doctrine and constitution to ensure they fully understand their roles within the party structure.

“All intended defectors are encouraged to begin the process from their respective ward levels, moving up through local government and state chapters before reaching the national level. We believe in grassroots politics as a true reflection of the people’s mandate,” he added.

The development marks a significant shift in Zamfara’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.
