Abuja, Nigeria — The Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has stated that the party is not backing any presidential aspirant ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during a stakeholder meeting with the Kogi State chapter of the ADC in Abuja on Tuesday, the former Senate President emphasized that the party’s immediate focus is on building a strong, transparent, and inclusive political platform.

“The ADC has no preferred or favourite presidential aspirant,” Mark declared. “We are working to establish a credible platform that will appeal to the majority of Nigerians. Our aim is to ensure that the great ship called Nigeria does not sink—because if it does, we all go down with it.”

He assured party members and the general public that under his leadership, the ADC would operate with complete transparency and equality.

“All members of this party are equal stakeholders, equal joiners, and equal owners,” he said.

Mark, who also served as a military governor of Niger State, urged party members to unite and set aside their differences. He further called on politicians across the country to refrain from personal attacks and instead focus on addressing Nigeria’s critical challenges, especially insecurity—an issue the ADC has pledged to confront head-on if entrusted with power in 2027.
