KADUNA — Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the party’s constitution and ensuring internal democracy, warning that the ADC will not tolerate any form of anti-party activity.
Speaking through party chieftain and former Katsina Central senator, Abubakar Sadiq Yar’adua, during a weekend meeting of coalition partners in Kaduna, Mark said lack of internal democracy has been a major cause of bad governance in Nigeria. He assured that the ADC is working to create a level playing field for all members and coalition partners.
Applauding the Kaduna chapter for “setting a pace for other states to emulate,” the former Senate President urged party stakeholders to remain coordinated, insisting “it will not be business as usual.”
On membership registration, Mark promised a free, fair, and credible process with mechanisms already in place to prevent manipulation and protect the party’s integrity.
Kaduna State ADC Chairman, Elder Patrick Ambut, said the coalition has triggered a surge in membership, describing Nigeria’s current state under the All Progressives Congress (APC) since 2015 as politically, economically, socially, and psychologically dire.
Ambut expressed confidence that the coalition offers a “veritable platform” for real political change.
Also speaking, former APC chieftain Salihu Lukman accused his ex-party of failing to deliver good governance, adding that poverty, insecurity, and hunger have worsened nationwide. He insisted that the ADC is poised to give Nigerians the genuine change they deserve.
