Adamu Garba Warns Tinubu, Says APC Risks Collapse Without Honest Leadership

Adamu Garba, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former presidential aspirant, has cautioned that President Bola Tinubu is being misled by sycophants who continue to paint a false picture that all is well with the party and the country.

Garba issued the warning on Tuesday during an appearance on Politics Today, a current affairs programme on Channels Television. He expressed concern that the President is being shielded from the growing discontent within the APC and across the nation.

“There is a lot of sycophancy around the President. People are telling him that things are okay — things are not okay,” Garba stated. “We need a party leadership that is truthful, open to criticism, and not built on flattery.”

He also described the opposition coalition formed under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as “vultures” circling the APC, ready to exploit the party’s internal weaknesses following the recent resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje as APC National Chairman.

“They hope for our loss. That is why we must be serious. The leadership must be someone who listens and accepts the facts,” he said.

Garba further admitted that the decline in APC support across northern Nigeria was anticipated, particularly in the aftermath of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s death, which, according to him, created a significant leadership vacuum within the party’s traditional stronghold.
