FG Sets February 17 Deadline for Civil Servants to Validate Payroll Details or Face Suspension

0

The Federal Government has announced February 17, 2025, as the final deadline for civil servants to validate their identity on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS), warning that failure to comply could lead to suspension from the payroll.

This directive was outlined in a memo issued by the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF), referencing an earlier Treasury Circular dated June 27, 2024. The memo confirmed that the payroll validation portal, initially set to close earlier, has been extended for an additional week from February 10 to February 17, 2025.

“The portal will be deployed and made accessible to employees who were unable to complete their validation before the initial deadline,” the memo stated. Civil servants are required to visit the OAGF website (www.oagf.gov.ng) to complete the process before 12 midnight on February 17.

The government has emphasized strict adherence, warning that those who fail to validate their details risk removal from the payroll. Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) have been urged to ensure full compliance.

This move follows concerns raised in June 2024 by the former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan, who revealed that some government employees had relocated abroad while still receiving salaries from the federal payroll.
