At the State House in Abuja, Vice-President Kashim Shettima is currently meeting with the 36 state governors alongside Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Dangote Foundation, and Bill Gates, Co-Chair of the Melinda Gates Foundation.
The conference is a part of the Gates Foundation’s dedication to collaborating closely with communities and leaders to support a development that might hasten advancement and enhance lives throughout Africa, particularly in Nigeria.
The American billionaire is also anticipated to take part in a discussion with students and young leaders to learn more about how science and innovation can hasten positive change and improve the future of Africa.
As part of the program, Gates had a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday. He wanted to hear from partners working to combat polio, anemia, and other health threats.
For example, scientists using research to develop agricultural innovations that will help with food security and climate adaptation; innovators using technology to improve access to financial services; and others trying to improve lives in Niger and Nigeria as well as other parts of the continent.
