Abuja, Nigeria – Former Labour Party presidential aspirant and Convener of the Rescue Movement for a New Nigeria, Faduri Oluwadare Joseph, popularly known as Fadojoe, has declared that the battle for Nigeria’s political soul ahead of the 2027 general elections has officially begun. He emphasized that the Labour Party’s presidential ticket will not be handed out lightly, but will be hotly contested
.

In a statement titled “2027: The Battle for Nigeria’s Soul Begins”, Fadojoe acknowledged the current internal challenges facing the Labour Party but assured Nigerians that significant efforts are underway to restructure and reposition the party as a formidable electoral force.

“While the party may seem disorganized today, let it be clear: before 2027, we will rebuild and reposition the Labour Party into a force ready to contest and win the election,” he stated.

Fadojoe noted that although it appears “the center is not holding,” the tides would turn before the next election cycle, giving Nigerians a genuine alternative to the “recycled failures of the past.”

He also addressed the wave of defections from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), dismissing the moves as politically insignificant in the grand scheme.

“Let the defections continue. PDP members may continue to flock to the APC in droves, but here’s a truth many fail to acknowledge: each of those defectors carries only one vote,” he said.
“This next election will not be won by political chess moves—it will be won by the people.”

Fadojoe criticized politicians who, despite widespread hardship allegedly caused by the current administration, still align themselves with the ruling party. He argued that the political culture of power for personal gain is nearing its end.

“No reasonable politician in a sane nation would proudly join a party alleged to have inflicted significant hardship on its citizens,” he said.

He called for a generational shift in leadership, stressing that the 2027 elections represent a chance for young, visionary Nigerians to take control of the country’s future.

“We, the younger generation, are ready. We are agile, tech-savvy, mentally equipped, and purpose-driven. We are not in this to enrich ourselves but to restore Nigeria’s greatness. We are not running for power; we are running for purpose.”

Fadojoe ended his message with a bold warning to the political establishment:

“2027 will not be business as usual. It will not be decided by rigging or outdated tactics. It will be decided by the Nigerian people. And we are mobilizing—state by state, ward by ward, voice by voice—until every Nigerian understands that their vote is their power. Let this be a warning and a promise: a new Nigeria is rising. So help me God.”

The statement signals growing political tension and a renewed push by emerging voices ahead of what is shaping up to be a fiercely contested 2027 general election.
